**The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Central parts Bay of Bengal has moved more northeastward and intensified into a Depression over the same area. It is very likely to move slightly northeastward and intensify into a Deep Depression within the next 6-12 hours.
It is further likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over East Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas within the subsequent 12-24 hours. Then it is likely to recurve/move north/north-northwestward and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by early hours of 26th May 2024.
Currently, West Bengal and Bangladesh coast is at high risk for a dangerous cyclone landfall by 26 May(Afternoon-Night).
The potential cyclone may peak as a category 1 hurricane equivalent cyclone with maximum wind speed of 130-140kph.
